Meta-reading

The problem with reading books about people to whom books are important is that I’m tempted to drop everything I’d planned, and just read what they’re reading instead.

Hence, Persuasion. It’s been a couple of years. It’s still excellent.

Have some music instead.

  1. Wait, I feel like I should know this but what are you reading in which Persuasion is a big deal?

  2. Antonia Forest, The Ready-Made Family – it has the main character reading Persuasion while dealing with stuff around romance and her sisters. I didn’t mention it because a)very few people reading this would know it and b)I’ve talked about Forest rather a lot lately.

  3. This is why I read Jane Eyre in the first place.
